Raised Kundalini, The Times of India

Energy follows thought. Your energies travel to where you place your attention. Kundalini describes personal energy fields; and 'raising your Kundalini’ really implies an expansion of this personal energy field. As we extend our individual energy fields from current self to higher aspects of Self, finally merging into pure consciousness and its oneness, we naturally experience its bliss.

Mind expansion helps. Gyan yoga encompasses a long-term focused attention on higher aspects of self and life; our attention shifts from the microcosm to the macrocosm. This is followed by energy flow and over a period of time this leads to raised energy fields. This is why we can be operating from the higher awareness and bliss of a raised Kundalini without ever doing any direct work on it; and why gyanis are able to reach enlightened states of being. .......
Become aware that as your energies follow thought, they can indeed be directed through constant focus and continued attention. In this manner, you will find that raising your Kundalini is not as exotic a goal as it seems. It is more about where your thoughts reside on a regular basis. Based on your inclination, gyan, kriya or hatha yoga could work equally well. All inner expansion leads to bhakti which automatically amplifies the process. You would eventually meditate 24x7 within even while carrying on with an enhanced reality on the outside. That is called a raised Kundalini.

Terence McKenna on Meditation, Tantra, Yantra and Psychedelics

...tantra, yantra and meditation work incredibly well in the presence of psychedelics..what these are, are tools developed in the paleolithic period
world of psychedelic magic and all we have now are these tools, but we do not have the original engine that drove them

Terence McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was a writer, philosopher, and ethnobotanist. He is noted for his many speculations on the use of psychedelic, plant-based hallucinogens, and subjects ranging from shamanism, the development of human consciousness, and the novelty theory

Was Moses High?

The biblical Moses may have been "high" at Mount Sinai, an Israeli researcher posited.

Benny Shanon, a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, has argued that the miraculous sights and sounds in the Exodus account of God's giving of the Torah to Moses may have been drug induced.

Shanon, who published his theory in the scholarly journal Time and Mind, said the Mount Sinai spectacle recalled a "trip" he experienced after drinking psychotropic drugs of a kind that can be found in some desert plants.

"I experienced visions that had spiritual-religious connotations," Ha'aretz quoted Shanon as saying. "It seems logical that something was altered in people's consciousness. There are other stories in the Bible that mention the use of plants: for example, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden."

this could also explain being lost in a relatively small desert for decades.

Yoni Verse

Yoni Yajna
"Her lower part is the (sacrificial) altar,
her hairs the (sacrificial) grass,
her skin the soma-press.
The lips of her yoni are the fire in the middle.
Many mortals go forth from this world without merit,
namely those who practice sexual union without knowing this.
"
Brihad Aranyika Upanishad, VI

Yoni Yajna is an ancient Vedic sacrificial rite and ritual. Yajna/Offering represented a link to the divine, a path to liberation and was of critical importance in Vedic culture. Traditionally performed by Vedic Priests using sacred objects, actions and instruments.
This verse represents the movement towards an inner Yajna/ritual using the body as the sacred objects and vessel for worship. Inner Yajna would later become the multi pathed, 'yoga'...union and liberation in the eternal present.

Liberation, enlightenment, can become a total experience of life. every action, thouhgt, movement and word can be an offering and union with the divine

A Tantric Way of Life, artist Sohan Qadri

“Mind talks, heart speaks, soul whispers unto silence,” muses Denmark-based Sohan Qadri, the 76-year-old high priest of contemporary tantrik art, reciting a few stray lines from his poetry. Versatility and mysticism set Qadri, who also doubles as a poet and Vajrayan* tantric guru, apart from the rest of his peers.

“I am living a tantric way of life and my profession is painting. One has to live the tantric way of life. Then, and only then, reflections of the tantric ways will appear in paintings,” Qadri told IANS in a long-distance interview from Copenhagen......
German Nobel Laureate Heinrich Boll, who was close to the artist during his years in Denmark, summed up his work as liberating.
“The liberation”, simplifies Qadri, “here means not to copy but to create symbology anew with full aesthetic and spiritual content. You will find this element in my work all the time.”
The liberation has a lot to do with the diverse religious influences in his work - though Buddhism dominates. “Tantra is a profound way of life, not a way of painting. One has to go through an intense discipline of initiation, practice and deep stages of meditation and kriyas to adopt the tantric way of life,” explains Qadri......
Painting, according to the artist, is an extension of his spirituality. “The same goes with breathing, pranayam, the breath of life,” says the artist.....

Rumi on Passion, Ecstasy and Desire

Passion makes the old medicine new:
Passion lops off the bough of weariness.
Passion is the elixir that renews:
how can there be weariness
when passion is present?
Oh, don't sigh heavily from fatigue:
seek passion, seek passion, seek passion!

Give me ecstasy, give me naked wonder, O my Creator!
Give birth to the Beloved in me, and let this lover die.
Let a thousand wrangling desires become one Love

Ajit Mookerjee, Tantra and Illumination

"Tantra itself is unique for being a synthesis of bhoga* and Yoga, enjoyment and liberation. There is no place for renunciation or denial in Tantra. Instead, we must involve ourselves in all the life processes which surround us. The spiritual is not something that descends from above, rather it is an illumination that is to be discovered within."

"Tantra is both an experience of life and a scientific method by which man can bring out his inherent spiritual power."

Margo Anand on Tantra, Ecstasy and Sexual Energy

"Most of the people in this country who are creative, who are innovators, who are visionaries, who are making a difference are closet ecstatics. They're all cultivating ecstatic states in their lives, many through tantra, some through other approaches. But they just don't talk about it because they know if they did—some of them work in the White House or have important jobs—they would have the press on their backs, or they wouldn't be respected or taken seriously. So everybody pretends that they're all aboveboard, but it's all going on with everybody."

"Tantra is an activation of all of our energies. And by channeling the sexual energies through the various chakras, you can reach levels of ecstasy, states of merging and fusion through your partner with the divine."

"High Sex takes the experience of orgasm to a new dimension-a dimension in which genital orgasm is only the beginning. It inspires you to explore the full capacity of orgasm. Culminating in ecstatic body-to-body and soul-to-soul communion. It is an experience to the whole body, the whole being."

Miranda Shaw, Maithuna Symbol

One of the main symbols of enlightenment in Tantric Buddhism is that of a Buddha couple,or male and female Buddha in union. This maithuna symbol is an image of unity and blissful concord between the sexes, a state of equilibrium the interdependence. This symbol powerfully evokes a state of primordial wholeness and completeness of being. The perennial appeal of this motif is not that it commemorates a successful seduction or cosmic manipulation but rather that it offers a vision of authentic humanity in which women and men are restored to wholeness through a delicately balanced, joyous state of harmony.

M. Shaw on Tantric Sexuality, Spirituality and Passion

"Sexuality can be central to one's spiritual path, because sexuality is the paradigm of how one relates to life on every level. In other words, whatever problems you have with life, or with your body or with your emotions become magnified and symbolized in the realm of sexuality. And similarly as you work to enlighten your sexuality, you are enlightening your being on every level. And so I feel that sexuality is the key to spiritual growth in these times. ......

If people choose to become celibate they have to do so with the realization of the perils of that path. The perils are profound alienation from themselves and from life and from the opposite sex. People may become celibate for a short time in order to emphasize or explore some other dimension of their being, but I think when people take on celibacy as a lifetime path they should simply consider the over-arching philosophy which would render that celibacy desirable. Often such a philosophy is a life-denying, anti-matter and often an anti-female gynophobic philosophy because women create bodies. We create and nurture life. We often become the target of life-denying, ascetical philosophies. And so I think people should question what is being offered by such a philosophy, what would they be gaining? And just evaluate it."

M. Shaw on Tantric Sexual Energy, Meditation and Passion

Sexuality is an extremely powerful, primal and irreducible aspect of human nature. One of the contributions of the tantric paradigm was the insight that sexual energies were being wasted in some forms of meditative practice. Some of the tantric pioneers felt that a celibate lifestyle did not, in fact, represent a mastery of one's sexuality, but rather a repression of and even a flight in fear from one's sexuality. .............what the tantric insight added was the recognition that some people have an abundance of passion—a very sensual, sensuous, aesthetically alive, emotionally intense character. They wanted to offer tantra as a way that those people could use this intensity so that they would not have to waste all this energy which was at their command, and which in all likelihood they could not really renounce or repress in any case................The texts say this over and over again: Tantra is for passionate people.

Miranda Shaw, Buddhist Tantra and Sexual Energy

Tantric Buddhism began as a revolutionary movement against the rigidity of traditional Buddhist monastic institutions.
What is Engligtenment interview:
" The founders of tantra came from all walks of life. We find royalty and aristocracy as well as tribal people and people practicing all kinds of trades and crafts. But interestingly, we also find people from the monasteries. As tantra was being founded and shaped, some of those in the monasteries left because they didn't want to be removed from life-as-lived. The main impetus for the movement, though, did take place outside the monasteries, from what we would call laypeople—people who wanted to practice yoga and spiritual disciplines, but not necessarily in a monastic context as celibates, and not in separation from members of the opposite sex or outside of the context of their intimate and familial relationships....
(the key practices of the tantric approach)
The basic mindfulness techniques and ethical teachings of Buddhism were already in place by this time. What was added at this point was the incorporation of a number of yogic techniques, specific ways of directing the breath and the inner energies of the body, which were drawn from the broader yogic knowledge of India. A lot of ritual elements were also incorporated, as well as magical techniques and dance practices. Probably what was most distinctive about this period, though, was the introduction of the yoga of union—the practices that men and women could do together in order to transform the energies awakened by sexual union into very refined states of consciousness, wisdom and bliss......"
